Margaret

Retired Counselor
Fort Wayne, Indiana

"Kathy is a gifted artist and teacher, affirming and patient, and helpful with feedback.

The opportunity was wonderful in carving out time and reminded me of the payoff of investing in practice. After taking her course, I noticed fewer body aches, less pain and better sleep. I was also less agitated and angry. I began letting God take the lead and surrendered wanting to control things. My thoughts were more positive. I was worrying less and living in a more balanced way."

Heather

Retired Teacher
Belmond, Iowa

"Before taking Kathy’s 90-day program, I didn’t feel that I could draw or paint very well. I was pleasantly surprised. Kathy truly helped me to tap into a gift that God has given me. She is a very talented artist and tender teacher! I learned to give up anger, embrace my weaknesses, and allow the Holy Spirit time and energy to whisper to me.

After the program, I noticed less agitation and anger and a decrease in wanting to control things. I had less anxiety."

LaDonna

Housewife
Corwith, Iowa

"Before taking Awakening Art, I was agitated, angry and wanted to control things. Taking Kathy’s course has shown me to be a bit bolder in my walk, such as praying out loud. After the 90-day program, I saw an improvement with my mood and that my thoughts were more positive.

Kathy is very talented in drawing and shows how to start from simple shapes to get the right proportions. She starts out with pencil and charcoal drawings, then introduces painting later on. She is a very caring person and will take time to pray for concerns. I didn't realize how negative I was. She was an answer to prayer."

Kathy Weidner

Coach

Kathy Weidner was born into a large Christian family in northern Indiana. Being the tenth child in the family, she wasn’t always heard, understandably.

Kathy found her expressive voice through creating art. She enjoys incorporating collage into mixed media pieces, and creating with graphite, colored pencil, charcoal, ink, acrylics and oils. Her prolific artwork always includes something that inspires her, usually children.

Kathy feels that we can all walk away with a deeper appreciation if we just slow down and observe life around us, like children do.
